Society and God's People

Is there a line to draw when it comes to normal in our society today? It seems that people are beginning to accept things becoming more "normal" in our society. In the past few decades there cannot be any deniability that the world has changed. Not only has it changed, but there is so much that has replaced and taken focus off of God. Looking back to the 80's we see cellular phones and dvd players come into existence. We can even see the introduction to video game systems like Nintendo just coming off the hills of Atari. Is this the change that brings devastation to society in today's age? Though this may be something little, we should evaluate what is happening in society now from this technology.

Technology has taken over and social skills are dying. A good example of this is social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Text Messaging. We have seen a decline in social skills and found ourselves in social media much more. Is this the normal in society we should be looking for? I believe the answer is yes. Social media has taken place of social skills and by allowing people to act any way they choose without responsibility and being accountable for their actions. It has become easy for people to judge, criticize, threaten and accuse others without having to be in the same area as that person they are doing this to. There is no accountability to their actions and its easier not to take responsibility for their actions of hurt, hate, and verbal abuse. Other things that are normal, but are getting more attention than God is addictions, divorce, lying, hate, drugs, alcoholism, sexual immorality, homosexuality, and focus on everything but God. All of this is becoming more normal and there are people--including Christians--who say, "oh its becoming normal so it is okay". Is it really okay? Lets go into scripture that holds absolute truth.

When we look at this scripture it is clear that Paul knew of a time that would come where truth and righteousness would not matter. As a matter of fact we live in that world today. Some christians are accepting things becoming normal which will result into a self conflict within themselves confused about right, wrong, and what the truth is. We see it in today's age where right and wrong is a battle and it is evident this battle is within our government, churches, families and friends as well. There are families accepting normal into their homes watching filth, listening to filthy music and allowing it to penetrate their kids while drugs and alcohol are now allowed in the homes due to government trying to take right from parents to discipline their kids. There are Churches that are allowing the ways of the world by bringing secular music and worldly actions to penetrate Christians hearts cancelling the blessings of God from church services resulting of peoples lives being changed 20 minutes prior to party life inside of the church. Righteousness is slowly being forcibly removed from society and people are being blind to the fact of this. The changes in society is there is no truth while right and wrong has been redefined as opposites. Good has become evil and evil has become good and that is what society is pushing for due to not wanting to listen to truth and "sound doctrine" of the truth.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 5:20-24

Closing Point:

If God's people accept and approve self-righteousness and unrighteousness (Sin) as "normal" in today's society, they will lose ground in this spiritual war not only in the Body of Christ, but within themselves. God's people must not allow the "normal" of society to bring us into submission of the golden calf.
